Vista is the 1st MS Operating System that does NOT require the older OS(XP
in this case), to be installed 1st.
Just follow the info on the above link's pages to dual boot them with Vista
already installed.

Your only problem will be finding XP drivers at the computer Manufacturer's
website.
No XP drivers, forget about it.
