That is basically the purpose with which everyone deletes the files, but sometimes, using the Shift+delete method can have catastrophic effects
I would be the perfect person to talk about it Once, by mistake, while deleting a folder inside the parent folder, somehow, the parent folder was selected! And shift+delete Horrific experience. Thankfully i had recuva handy and realised the mistake right then. But you don't realise the mistakes instantaneously always.

From then on, i have made it a habit to always delete to recycle bin first, and at the end of the day or the session, i empty the recycle bin. You never know what you might need again
