This one's completely new to me ! Anyone heard or tried it?
But the comments appear to be +ve on Wilders ...
Hi,
Fortinet Security Suite now freeware (av, as, fw- Windows 2000- Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003, 2008)
Typically, free security products include a single feature per release: a free firewall, for example, or free antivirus. But Fortinet, a network security provider, said it will offer a robust set of features inside a security suite it will make available free to consumers.
This product has been around a while but is now offering an entire suite for free. In older tests the product did very well against malware. It has won several VB100 awards, FWIW.

Fortinet, Inc. : FortiClient Endpoint Security
The paid version adds endpoint management (known as FortiManager), FortiCare support services, antispam and Web content filtering re-rating.
The suite will compete against many paid products, such as suites provided by Norton, McAfee and others, who have moved beyond anti-malware protection and begun adding utility features such as automatic backup.
Fortinet said that it has improved its anti-spyware and anti-virus engines to speed up performance three times versus previous versions. Unlike some suites, the Fortinet technology uses separate engines for each. Anti-spyware sweeps can scan a full system in just seconds, according to the company. The free suite supplies definition updates once per day, while the paid version downloads them from Fortinet's servers on an hourly basis.
A separate version of Fortinet's suite, dubbed FortiMobile, works with Windows Mobile, Symbian and PocketPC phones. Like the paid version of the security suite, it also costs at least $29 per seat; the software includes IPSec VPN, phone security with handset data encrypt/decrypt, personal firewall, antivirus, incoming call filter, SMS antispam, and multi-language support.

hi !
thanks ha14 !
i just checked their results at VB100, they got 8 (EIGHT) VB100-awards in a row from february 2008 !
last time they failed was december 2007, a test with W2k, they got a total of 15 VB100-awards.
latests tests: Virus Bulletin : VB100 results summary
fortinetīs results:
Virus Bulletin : VB100 results - Fortinet
fx. in the latest test on Vista SP2 business, Symantec failed, Fortinet passed...
so this looks VERY interesting...
iīm going to try to temporarily disable MSE and see if that works, as i donīt think fortinet will run together with MSE.
if that canīt be done, iīll install fortinet on my PC#2, which doesnīt have any A/V-software yet, as i just installed W7 on it a few days ago.
anyway, i will install fortinet later today, and if i can run it on PC#1 then iīm going to run my "usual" firewall tests.
PC#2 has no internet connection (yet)...
