Default file associations gone in contacts

My folders in contacts won't open with a left click only from the context drop down menu and clicking on open. It says there are no program associations to perform this function.
What happened to the associations and how do I repair it?

Try going to Start Menu\Control Panel\Default Programs
Associate a filetype or Protocol with a program

Scroll down till you see .Contact , select it and click Change Program at top right. The default should be Windows Contacts. If you use an application live Windows Live Mail then it may have it selected. If not and you want to use Windows Live Mail then Browse to the Program folder and select it, if not use Windows Contacts

Just wanted to thank The Windows Club for FileAssociationFixer. A slick little app I came across while manually fixing associations. Fast and easy this!

Does File Association Fixer include fixes for OpenOffice.org (most recent versions are 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3) and LibreOffice (versions 3.3 and 3.4)?

In particular, if OOo and LibO lose their status as programs that will be listed as one of the "Open with..." programs for .doc, .xls, and .ppt files, will FAF restore them to this status?

Examples of problems with Windows file associations for OOo/LibO are discussed in the OpenOffice.org users forum at user dot services dot openoffice dot org slash en slash forum slash

(Andy. May I please be granted the right to post URLs?)

You will be able to post URLs after you cross a particular number of posts. This in an anti-spam measure in place for all.

You may pls post the URLs without the http/www and someone will edit it.
