It would be nice to have System Restore Manager on a bootable CD and be able to select a restore point to try without having to boot up the Windows O/S. this would obviate the complicated manual method of choosing a restore point and copying and pasting files on an unbootable PC. I've fixed several people who fell for the syskey scam.

    have fun, Swamp Daddy

    SOOOO, Actually it doesn't work!!!!

If it doesn't store the values then my restore points are still going to get deleted after 90 days!

I'm building a new system so I would like to retain my original restore point as well as major ones that I initiate...

And I am trying to avoid cloning the drive every month!

You got me all excited for nothing!!!

    What do you mean ?
    System Restore Manager works.

But system restore points is unreliable.
See post #70, which has information copied from: System Restore Manager may need some fixin'

    Create a "real" system-backup instead.

    Hi.

Sounds good. Unable to try - won't run in Windows 10. Please update.

    howdy Happy AndyK.
    Thanks for sharing.
but still no explanation for deletion of all restore points except for the one that happened to be selected when the change button was selected, thanks more, good luck!

Default Not working in Windows 10

Looks like a great utility, just what I've been looking for. Unfortunately it won't install or run on windows 10 for me. I have tried two separate downloads from two different sources, Windows Club and Softonic. Either the exe files does absoulutely nothing (asks for User Comtrol permission to run, then just disappears), or occasionally I get an 'Error retreiving restore points' message. That's it, nothing else, both downloads do the same thing.

Both downloads look the same and presumably are, probably the only difference is the number of times I've tried it. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit build 1703 on a Fujitsu N532 laptop with a SSD boot/Windows primary drive and a 500GB HD 2nd drive.

Any ides why this doesn't work?

Ir was developed for Windows 7, so perhaps it does not work on Windows 10.
