Control or Reduce CD-ROM Speed with Rimhill
When you insert a CD in the CD Drive it spins at a very high speed. This, at times results in spinning noise coming from your drive. A free software that goes by the name RimHill fortunately helps you beat this problem by allowing you to set the spinning speed to a preset value.
Setting the spinning speed to a preset value prevents Windows from spinning your disks at a very high speed. You can select the speeds from 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x and Maximum. By default the speed it set to 8x.
The system tray application creates an icon in the taskbar near the clock. The download is a setup installer which can be used to install RimHill on your Windows PC.
