    Exclamation Twc & ie9

    Hi !

Those of you using IE9, I just wanted to know one thing.

While using IE9 and opening TWC and TWCF do you find that it opens (roughly)
    • Quicker
    • Slower
    • Same

as compared to IE8 or other browser.

Really need this feedback so would appreciate your answers.

Open TWC home and scroll down a bit and you will see the titles going off a bit in IE9.

I noticed this as well. The forums load fine, but the homepage itself seemed to hang up slightly. Also noticed the user login/controls are spanned across logo bar on top in IE8 whereas in IE9 all Login/controls are all to the right of forum page stacked on top of each other. This is not just something I have noticed on TWC but on a good many sites I have visited.

It doesn't happen in mine ! Try in compatibility mode. So we know if it's the browser.

Well I am glad I seem to be the only one or maybe one in a minority. It looks fine when I use the compatibility mode .... so I wonder why then ...

May have to do with Screen Res, Drivers, ................. After doing a reformat and updated everything to latest. I can view the site just fine and haven't had to go into compatibility mode at all

Yup ... Mostly it's GPU since H/W acceleration is major thing in IE9 just make sure all the Display related drivers are up to date.

After reading your post I decide to do some sort of testing on your site with the available tools (IE9 developer tools and firebug) and result are as follows

    speed test:
    IE9 loading time:
    TWC 8.14 sec
    TWCF 9.26 sec

    firefox
    TWC 9.86 sec
    TWCF 8.06 sec

The above result are generated on 2Mbps speed and may vary at different computer and network it only provide the rough idea of loading of site.

Another thing i noted while opening TWCF in IE9 the logout, user info bar at top in header align over each other at right.

I think this is due to not assigning height to the element class in style sheet.
