Explorer unable to browse
Hi folks, just found this forum after searching for clues to the above problem. I have done all the ipconfig stuff and DNS flush, and my computer is showing that I am connected to the internet with WiFi. My computer has actually downloaded some updates while I was trying all the fixes but the bowser will not search, I even tried Mozilla but it would not browse either.
It is not the router as my other laptop connects no problem with XP, this laptop has Vista and someone else has Vista and can't connect. There is a desktop connected all the time with no problem either.
Any ideas please?

I don't know if you have tried it, but it may be a firmware issue. If you haven't tried it try the fix it for me from Microsofts site. There is also explanations on why internet will work for XP but not Vista.
This issue occurs because of a difference in design between Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). Specifically, in Windows XP SP2, the BROADCAST flag in DHCP discovery packets is set to 0 (disabled). In Windows Vista, the BROADCAST flag in DHCP discovery packets is not disabled. Therefore, some routers and some non-Microsoft DHCP servers cannot process the DHCP discovery packets.
To have us fix this problem for you, go to the "Fix it for me" section. To fix this problem yourself, go to the "Let me fix it myself" section.

Also can try to Reset all IE settings to default thru Advanced Internet options.
