    Thumbs up IE9 Tweaker : Create a custom Favorites Home Page

    IE9 Tweaker lets you tweak the following settings in Internet Explorer 9 Beta: DO NOT USE WITH IE9 RTM

    * Set menu bar to be always visible
    * Set menu bar on top
    * Set InPrivate Filtering to be always on
    * Set 3D Border. Allowing the 3D Border will add a border between the toolbar and the web window.
    * Always start IE in full-screen
    * Set small icons on toolbar
    * Change number of maximum downloads
    * Change the number rows on the about:tabs page. You can set this figure between 2 -5. Internet Explorer 9 shows 2 rows of your oft-visited sites on the about:tabs page, with each row having 5 thumbnails. We have already blogged on how you can make IE9 show more rows.
    * Create a custom Favorites Home Page to make it display your favorites.

    The main feature of IE9 Tweaker is the ability to create your own customized Homepage similar to IE9 About:Tabs page.

    IE9 Tweaker has been developed by our TWC Author and TWCF member L.W.

    A new update for IE9 RTM will be coming soon and will resolve issues many users have had with items such as the menu

    Note: It works for IE8 as well. Don't know why this was never thought of before now, lol

    Figured I would throw in a couple of Tweaks that can be added to the Homepage for people that may like to do so.

    1: If you would like your homepage links to open in a new window instead of the current window:
    Open the homepage and go to File\ Edit with Notepad. Scroll through until you find the link you want to open in a new window
    For example: The Windows Club : The line will look like this :
    <td><a href="http://www.thewindowsclub.com">

    Replace the line with this:
    <td><a
    href="http://www.thewindowsclub.com"target="_blank">

    You are just adding the target="_blank"
    From now on when you click the button for The Windows Club it will open in a new window

    2: If you would like to add a search box for Google or Bing you can scroll to the bottom of the code and replace the following code:
    <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><center><div id="footer"><font color="blue"><a href="http://www.thewindowsclub.com/" title="Visit The Windows Club">The Windows Club</a></font></div></center></body></html>
    Replace with this code for a Bing Search
    <center><form method="get" action="http://www.bing.com/search">
    <div style="border:0px solid white;padding:4px;width:50em;">
    <input type="text" name="q style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 20px; height: 28px; width: 400px"
    maxlength="255" value="" /><br><br>
    <input type="submit" style="height: 45px; width: 100px" value="Bing Search" />
    </div></form></center>
    <br><br><center><div id="footer"><font color="blue"><a href="http://www.thewindowsclub.com/" title="Visit The Windows Club">The Windows Club</a>
    </font></div></center></body></html>
    Replace with this code for a Google Search
    <center><form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search">
    <div style="border:0px solid white;padding:4px;width:50em;">
    <input type="text" name="q" style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 20px; height: 28px; width: 400px"
    maxlength="255" value="" /><br><br>
    <input type="submit" style="height: 45px; width: 100px" value="Google Search" />
    </div></form></center>
    <br><br><center><div id="footer"><font color="blue"><a href="http://www.thewindowsclub.com/" title="Visit The Windows Club">The Windows Club</a>
    </font></div></center></body></html>

    You can adjust the sizes to suit your liking

    If anyone is interested I show some more tweaks you can do to the homepage as well.
