Uninstall Internet Explorer using Fix It from Microsoft
First, I presume you have tried to uninstall Internet Explorer using the standard procedure.
If the standard uninstallation process to uninstall or remove Internet Explorer 9 does not work, you may download and use the Fix It from KB2579295.

I just want to be able to install it somewhere other than the system drive. It was a pain to get my PC with new SSD (low space, but FAST) all set up and have IE9 fail because it was installing on C:\, but looking for files on E:\... Finally got it working, but it required a reinstall and had to install it first, right after installing the OS and making any changes.
But, why uninstall IE9? It's better than Firefox! (Oops, did I open that can of worms?!).
I recently has to uninstall and reinstall IE when I faced this problem 2 days back - Fix: Internet Explorer 32-bit will not open, but IE 64-bit opens
Yes - I agree - I think IE9 is among the best browsers available for Windows.
Is there any way not to restart the PC after uninstalling? My PC is in frozen state right now.
the Pc will have to restart, if you have used this fix it, to replace/modify/delete files which may be in use while using the PC.
