    Default Internet Explorer 10 Crashes.

    Hi,

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and recently installed Internet Explorer 10: When I click on an Icon in the Favorites Bar that is hidden and can only be accessed by clicking the two little arrows at the end of the Favorite Bar Internet Explorer crashes immediately:

The strange thing though is that the browser does not crash if I click on any of the viewable Icons in the Bar.

I have had to move all of my out of sight icons to the Favorites column to get them to work.

This is very irritable and did not happen with IE.9.

Any ideas what is causing this? I did find out one thing. The Favorites Bar only permits 16 viewable Icons before pushing the rest out of sight.

These are the ones that cause the Browser to crash: Pity everything else is good.

    Ian.

This shouldn't have been happening on a newly installed IE10.

You could run the Internet Explorer Troubleshooter and see if it helps.

Else backup your browser bookmarks and then Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

Meanwhile as a temporary measure, you can set it so that the Favorites bar displays icons only, so as to accommodate more icons. Right click any bookmark icon on the favorites bar > Customize title widths > Icons only.

I did a little more investigation and found the Cause Andy:

It was one of the add on-s. Namely Speckie the Spell Checker.

I think it was causing a conflict with the New IE. 10 Spell Checker and causing the Browser to crash.

I have since Disabled Speckie and everything is working fine now. No more crashes.

    Thanks for your help Andy.

Thanks for posting the update. Many a times addons do create such problems.
