Default Internet Explorer history is password protected

I recently purchased a laptop from a friend, there son was using it and he upgraded. My problem is: The history is password protected and my friend does not know the password. Will I have to reload my internet explorer or how do I fix this problem? please help.

Open Run box, type RunDll32.exe msrating.dll,RatingSetupUI and hit Enter to open the Content Advisor settings box.

Under the General tab, click on Supervisor password > Create password and see if you are able to change the password.

If you cannot then Reset IE settings and see if it helps. When you do this, you will lose your bookmarks, etc. So you may want to back them up first.

If this does not help, and if your version of Windows has the Group Policy Editor, see if you are able to change your Group Policy settings. I am not sure that this can work for you, but no harm in trying.
