Question How to block USB Drives on Clients? - 02-20-2009, 07:20 AM

OS: Server-> Windows Server 2003, Clients-> WinXP

Problem: Prohibit use of Flash Drives on clients via Server.

Possible solutions tested(failed): Admin templates imported, Client Registry edited remotely, Configured the Domain properties, suggested to use Server2008 but needed to be done on Server 2003. I s there any policy settings or some other.

Any other feasible methods???

I have an office of 25 people and I just use a software called AccessPatrol.

This program allows me to block USB flash drives and iphones.

There is also a whitelist feature so that my USB is allowed, while everyone else have no USB access.

Simplest way i would recommend to disable USB drives is thru boot options ..and give permissions for the users their.IN my office the admins have disabled it by giving boot a password so that i cant access it now i am trying to hack the boot pASSWORD THough ...
