Post IE8 faster than Firefox and Chrome - Microsoft Study. - 03-12-2009, 05:53 PM

Microsoft has published a document which explains various browser components and how each can impact performance when benchmarking. The test indicate that IE8 is the fasted of them all.

"For the Internet Explorer 8 performance video we published, we chose the Top 25 websites in the world as measured by comScore to reflect the sites users are most likely to visit on the web. The following table shows results from the benchmark testing process for those 25 websites tested on the following browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer 8."

As noted earlier, Microsoft chose approximately 25 websites for daily testing, and tens of thousands on a monthly basis. Any list of websites to be used for benchmarking must contain a variety of websites, including international websites, to help ensure a complete picture of performance as users would
experience on the Internet.

I am also a webmaster.. and I think IE is better than FF/opera. If you see any problem in IE8, just click IE compatibility button. Also, IE 8 passes Acid test

FF Rocks !!

IE is leading because its the default web browser ( of ********** ). I bet IE can't even stand in the race if its an independent browser like FF.

Some *** products got eternal bugs e.g. vista

FF Rocks !!

Unix never says "please."

Microsoft, if you wanted to impress someone, compare IE 8 Beta with browsers in it's own class (the Dev version of Chrome, Minefield, and Safari 4).
Don't compare your UPCOMING web browser with other people's CURRENT ones.

Also, I didn't see any sites with Java..... I wonder why.....

Interesting comparison made by Microsoft
But I wonder they didn't include Opera browser too.

Well, I'm not a webmaster but I know that Trident Engine doesn't respect W3C Standard, even if IE 8 RC 1 can use compatibility mode.
I noticed IE 8 RC 1 is faster and lighter in comparison with previous versions anyway.

However I'll keep on using Firefox waiting for IE 8 final to express a judgment.

Regards
