Exclamation Windows 7 RC to be released in May 2009. - 03-26-2009, 03:58 PM

The Windows 7 RC Technet page has somehow gone live with a 'date' of May 2009.

So it does look like it will be available for download to all. The RC release will be available at least through June 2009 and Microsoft is not limiting the number of product keys, so you have plenty of time. Windows 7 RC will expire on June 1, 2010.

So when will W7 RTM ?

May? I was expecting in April. Anyway, good see the official information about Widows 7 RC release.

Then the RTM will be in February 2010.

Edit: Wow! Even the download section is also ready. Just need to add a link.

Interesting scenario. I guess they want to get everybody hooked on a freebie until June 2010 before they present the bill. By that time, people will be so involved with it, that they will buy, whether they like it or not. Looks like they have learned from Vista and that they make every effort to move that XP base ( like with "My Documents" and gimmicks alike).

The page has been taken off now and displays the earlier message

Sorry, Windows 7 Beta downloads are no longer available. However, you can still register for a product key or look up the key you’ve already gotten.

Someone at MS is cleaning out their desk...
Or perhaps it was a 'planned' leak....??
