Thumbs up Free Windows Live Hotmail POP3 access available worldwide

POP3 access is now available worldwide to all Hotmail subscribers.

POP3 is a protocol that allows retrieval of your emails in almost any email program that you’ve installed on your mobile phone or PC. Here’s all the information you might need when setting this up in your email program:

When you set up Hotmail in the e-mail program on your PC or mobile device, you may be asked for the following information:

    POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
    POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
    SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
    TLS/SSL required? Yes

Hotmail is the only Microsoft online email service. Live Mail is the desktop client, part of Live Essentials, Windows Mail is the desktop client bundled in Vista.

There are not many left as MS was always late with Hotmail... They stuck with 5 MB and then 50 MB and 200 MB or such limits when Gmail gave 1 GB / Yahoo too upgraded with immediate effect...

MS stopped POP3 of Hotmail, when Gmail started it... !!!!

So no point of starting all these when max of user have switched to other services...
