Question Add Windows Live Mail in button Internet Explorer 9 toolbar

Hi, I have just upgraded from IE8 to IE9 on Windows 7 and previously was able to directly access windows live mail from IE8 screen but button is missing from IE9 screen. I am sure it must be easy to rectify this. Can someone help please.
I still have direct link to Windows live mail with shortcut on my screen but it is often useful to be able to access mail direct from Explorer screen.

Open IE 9 settings > toolbars > customize > customize toolbar.

    Does this help?

    Where's this option in IE9?
I'm right clicking on the space above the URL/search bar and checking Command bar where I get the 'Read mail' button.

It took me quite some time but I have now found this button following that last piece of information from HappyAndyK and all is now well.
    Thanks again.

Default The read mail icon takes me to Outlook, not windows live

My Read Mail icon takes me to Outlook, which I do not use. How can I change the icon to take me to Hotmail.com, or Live.com?

    In IE9 ,
Tools > Internet options > programs > set programs > set your default program and make whichever mail client you want to make it as default.
If you want to make Hotmail.com that is wnat to read mails via web interface & not through mail client then in IE9 and Windows 7 , you can pin your Hotmail to task bar. pl. refer to this -
    Hotmail also gets IE9 jumplist
