Do I need to activate it? I cannot make out how.

    EDIT:

I found solution. In the Excel I clicked on the File tab and clicked on Help. The screen that popped up said it was unlicensed.

I clicked on the change product key link and entered the product key I was given. It went through a configuration procedure and I clicked OK when it was done.

Nothing looked different but when I opened Excel again the activation wizard popped up and I was able to activate it. Now that same screen in help says it is activated.
Well-known issue with Office 2010 Beta Activation method and already reported to Microsoft. We won't see this anymore in final release.
