I can't get an answer as for how long we get to use the beta, does anyone know when it will expire?
Earlier this week, Office 2010 Beta was made available to MSDN and TechNet Subscribers and without wasting the time, Microsoft has done same for general public. Office 2010 public beta is available now at Microsoft Download Center.
What you need to know before take a test drive:
- Protect your PC and data. Be sure to back up your data and please don’t test Office Professional Plus 2010 Beta on your primary home or business PC.
- Uninstall any earlier versions of Microsoft Office. It is recommend that previous versions of Microsoft Office be removed from your test machine before installing Office Professional Plus 2010 Beta.
- Keep Automatic Updates Turn On. Be sure to turn on automatic updates in Windows Update in case Microsoft publish updates for the Office Professional Plus 2010 Beta.

"Does the beta version of Office 2010 expire after certain time?
The beta version of Office 2010 will expire in October 2010. Users can choose to download the trial or buy the full version of Office 2010 at that time."

Thanks guys. October 2010 is plenty time to test drive.
Thanks fro the update Ramesh![]()
I have downloaded from the beta website and installed and but it did not ask me for the key during installation and it does ask me to activate when I open any of the apps.
Do I need to activate it? I cannot make out how.
EDIT:
I found solution. In the Excel I clicked on the File tab and clicked on Help. The screen that popped up said it was unlicensed.
I clicked on the change product key link and entered the product key I was given. It went through a configuration procedure and I clicked OK when it was done.
Nothing looked different but when I opened Excel again the activation wizard popped up and I was able to activate it. Now that same screen in help says it is activated.
