Blogger Blogspot blogs to redirect to country-specific URL
Over the coming weeks you might notice that the URL of a Blogger.com blog you visit has been redirected to a country-code top level domain. For instance vasudevg.blogspot.com will now redirect to vasudevg.blogspot.in.
Migrating to localized domains will allow us to continue promoting free expression and responsible publishing while providing greater flexibility in complying with valid removal requests pursuant to local law. By utilizing ccTLDs, content removals can be managed on a per country basis, which will limit their impact to the smallest number of readers. Content removed due to a specific country’s law will only be removed from the relevant ccTLD, says Google.

So it sounds like it makes it easier to censor the information?
Sorry, sensitive subject. I feel that the Internet is an open communication tool. Perhaps this is due to me living in a free country where we are able to express our opinions as we want - not as we are told.
But, will this redirect free up the original domain (say, if someone wanted to take vasudevg.blogspot.com after it moves to .in?)? Or will it just be forever frozen and redirected?
