    Default Powershell commands fail to restore the Store & Apps

    The advice on this website on how to restore Store apps does not work. But then nor does advice on other forums. I have tried several forums and several versions of the Poweshell command, plus app restore in Settings. I still have no Store and many apps have vanished. Here is one of the commands which does not work:

    Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    So, what can I do now?

    Best would be a Windows reset. After the anniversary update, app versions have changed so the older commands wont work.
    Go to Settings -> Updates. Click Recovery and then Reset. When it asks you, choose "keep my data and files".
    That will give you Windows 10 with default apps. You may have to install programs and apps that did not come with Windows 10.
