Default Notification Area icons settings are not saved Windows 10

The icons I choose to "show" in the tray become hidden at the next bootup or restart on Dell XPS-13 Windows 10 Creators Update.

Tray icon settings do not "take". Wiped out next time.

The problems with this awful update to Windows 10 are never-ending.

    Please help.

Create a System Restore Point first.

Then open Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \TrayNotify

Now in the right pane, delete the IconStreams and PastIconsStream Registry values.

Restart your computer and now try to set your preferences via Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Notification Area > Select which icons appear on the taskbar.

If things don't work out to your expectations, you may go back to the created restore point.

    Hope it helps.

This doesn't work. There is no PastIconStreams key in the Windows 10 Registry.

Going back to Windows 98 there is no Microsoft OS worse than Win10 CU. The whole point of Win10 is to get you and all your data and vital information onto Microsoft, Google, and Amazon servers.
