    Default Need to copy files to Winsxs

    Need to copy files to Winsxs
    but i can't do it...i know there is a tool that allow
    to change the read/write attribute. does u know
    where can i find it?

    Just curious ... why would you need to copy files TO the Winsxs folder? Most I know want to know how to delete files from it to reduce its size

    im trying to install software and im getting error that the files
    cannot be copied to folder winsxs.

    Run the .exe installer as an administrator. that should help.

    tryed that but still not working. i need a patch tool that
    remove the read/write only. i used it 10 days ago and lost it.

    What if you just took ownership of the folder before you tried to do the install?

    see that is imposible to copy file to it.

    Here is another idea.

    Does the software give you an option to choose the location of the installation folder?

    If it does, create a folder in My Documents called (Softwarename)Installation and choose that folder as the installation location during the installation process.

    If you are that keen, try to 'take ownership' of the winsxs folder and then try again. It will take a long time as the folder would be large.
