It seems, you are trying to install Windows 7 RTM by mounting ISO image in Virtual Drive.
    Thats why the error occured.

Either use your physical DVD drive or USB Pen drive to install Windows 7.

    hi !

    ?

i think you missed this from my post above: "thatīs VERY stupid since iīm running the installation from my DVD, which is quite obviously working...."

i burned the ISO-file to a CD-RW-disc, and iīm booting from the very same DVD-writer,
so it should not have any problem reading the disc...

anyway, i have also tried extracting all files to my HD, and then to run the setup from HD,
but then i get other errormessages about "spwizeng.dll" +"autorun.dll".

i have searched the web, but i canīt find a straight answer.

since there are a lot of members here running W7 RTM, i was hoping that someone else had noticed the problem, and had a solution...

    hi !

    yes, it could be a bad ISO-file / dvd-burn.

i just finished a new "slooow" burn at 1x, and iīm downloading a new ISO-file,

but itīs going to take at least another 2 hours, (75% now), before i have it.

i am downloading via an UMTS-net, mobile broadband at a speed of around 200 kb/s...

anyway, have you had or heard of anyone else having the problem before ?

    hi !

    problem solved !

it was a bad ISO-file, i checked the SHA1-checksum and it was wrong.

i made a second attempt to download, but got another bad ISO-file.

but now after downloading a third time, i have got a good ISO-file with the correct SHA1-checksum, i made a succesfull burn to a CD/RW and installed W7 RTM.

i am using W7 RTM now....
