Default Windows 7 Disk Defrag utility defrag MFT, Registry, Page file, etc?

Can Windows 7 Disk in-built defrag utility defrag MFT, Registry, Page file, etc, all that at boot or do I still have to depend on third party software?

Windows 7 Disk Defragmenter does not defragment the following files: Bootsect dos, Safeboot fs, Safeboot csv, Safeboot rsv, Hiberfil sys, Memory dmp and the Windows Page file.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for the link, I've downloaded Puran Defrag Free and will check it out but, tell me, are you familiar with UltraDefrag free, been using it for a while now.

    Thanks,
    Selvan

I have and it's good. But, with barely any experience with Puran, I can already say that it's better with a more user-friendly gui and a built-in scheduler. For that a lone, Ultra Defrag is out...

In all thoe years on the PC I did never defrag any of these - just standard Defrag once per month. What am I missing.
Btw: My system is super fast.

Beware! Puran Defrag will take all your restore points away!

    Hello,

To be honest please don't use these Registry cleaner or Registry Defrag just use the System build Defrag for Hard drive that's enough. For Page File there was a Tool from Sysinternals before then he haven't updated yet seems like it's no longer required in new version of Windows. Its the Tools that involves registry is dangerous. It doesn't improve the performance significantly. There are lot of articles that speaks about it. Read this article http://billpstudios.blogspot.com/200...y-cleaner.html written by Bill.

    Hope this help !
