Exclamation Wifi shows as connected but no internet access.

I have purchased a New dell Inspiron N5050, windows 7, with a preinstalled Mcafee 1 month subscription. The wifi was working fine. But suddenly after a windows 7 update the wifi started showing as Limited access. After messing around with DNS i was able to get it to connect to the wifi network however shows no Internet access but bytes are being transferred. Wen i try to ping the router it shows general failure. I have reinstalled the drivers, winsock reset, i even uninstalled all windows updates with no avail. I also tried to exclude the macfee firewall services from msconfig and tried mostly everything i thought possible still its the same. Any advice is greatly appreciated. i have been on this for the past two days nows.

    Hi !

Thats´s "Standard Operating Procedure" (SOP) when you are using a 3rd-party firewall and can´t connect to a router / internet...
Turn it off and turn on windowsfirewall, then check if it helps.
I asked about McAfee´s firewall because i´ve had similar problems with Online Armor after a program update.

I have the same problem and now that i read this i remember that McAfee installed an update recently in my computer. Did you remove mcafee completely or just the last update? if it was the last update, how did you?
