Default Your activation period has expired: Message on Windows 7

I wanted to know about windows activation of Windows 7 premium.

I am frequently getting a message to activate it,and it requires a 'product key'.I do not have this. I installed Windows 7 home premium from a person who knows all this in my town. Now I am getting a message that your "Your activation period has expired". So now what action should I take?

Sir please let me know more about this stuff.

    Thanks in advance

Actually what you did is call pirating or bootlegging which means installing without a license to do so. You will need to buy a legit copy of Windows and install. If you purchase the same version of Windows 7 that is already installed you could probably just enter the key code for the purchased copy but I would not do so as you do not know if what you have installed is clean.

The messages just mean that your Windows install is not legitimate. Windows is not free software that can just be passed around, it must be paid for and the key code from the purchased copy entered and then, after the install, activated.
