    Default 1152: Error extracting ...

Has anyone encountered this error in Windows 7. I am trying to install a plug and play portable drive but when i try to run the exe file I get this error:

    1552: error extracting...

I have done a disk clean, a disk defrag, clean boot and system file scan to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Default

This usually occurs if there are some 'bad' temporary files from a previous failed installations, and cleaning up that folder and trying again is the way to go.

By default the Disk cleanup tool in Windows does not delete the temporary (.tmp) files in the %WinDir%\Temp folder and in other folders which have been created or accessed in the last 7 days. You will have to either change this setting to make Disk Cleanup Tool delete ALL temporary files, including those created in the last 7 days or you can use CCleaner to clear all PC junk.

After you have done this, try installing again and see if it helps you.
