    Default Question about RAM

How much RAM do I really have? I have 4 x 8 installed.

    Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0GB

    Total Physical Memory 16.0 GB

    ---------------------------------------------

    Windows 7 64-bit

If this is Windows 7 Home Premium, then 16GB is the maximum supported. For other Windows editions, see here:

    It's Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
Do I gain something by installing only 16 GB or will it be useful to install 32 GB?

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 supports and recognizes only up to 16 GB, so anything above this will not be useful to you anyway.

There is not much use of RAM beyond 16GB or even 6GB unless you want to venture into RAM-disk or run many virtual systems side by side. Superfetch can make use of some of it, but 16GB go a long way.
