Windows Update won't download - Windows 7
Hello, Although Windows update is correctly set "Search for the update and let me me choose to download and install...", I have updates notification, can choose the updates to install and click on Start Download...
Unfortunately, after several hours no update is downloaded.
I'll appreciate any help
There are probably no problems with your computer.
This is a wellknown problem...
A lot of people worldwide have had problems updating for months.
Last saturday (13:00 UTC) i told a friends computer to start looking for updates,
nothing happened until monday (02:29 UTC), by then it had found a listing of available updates.
On monday (09:00 UTC) i started downloading those updates, but nothing happened during the whole day.
It was still trying to download when i went to bed at around midnight.
When i woke up tuesday morning it had finally downloaded, and installed all updates.
So it took almost 3 days !?
So you are not alone.
Welcome to the club...

Maybe the cache is corrupted. Clear the Windows Update Cache and try again.

Reason: Link corrected. Thanks hackerman1
According to that post the "cache clearing" works for W8.1 & W10...
"Clear & Reset Windows Store Cache in Windows 10 / 8.1
One of the new features of Windows 8, is downloading of Windows Store applications.
Often you might encounter issues where the downloading it stuck half way or when you try to install or update the Windows 8 application, you will stuck somewhere in the middle, and nothing really happens.
We are talking about updating W7, not updating W8 / W10 from Windows Store...

I think there is a bug with Windows 7 update. I have 8 computers with Windows 7 that is unable to connect to Microsoft update server.
This has been an ungoing problem that has progressively gotten worse. I have been unable to update Windows 7 at all for the past 2 months now.
I have tried all known fixes with no luck. Even a new installation of Windows 7 on all 8 machines will not update.
I tried installing Windows 10 on two of the machines, and it was able to update with no problem.
I will try to contact Microsoft within the next two days. I will report back if they are able to pinpoint the problem.

*** HAVING ISSUES WITH WINDOWS UPDATE FEATURE? ***
If any of you guys have an issue with your Windows updating feature just use The Windows Club "FIX WU" Fix Windows Update tool. I had the "takes for ever" update problem and everything I tried was useless. I even went to Microsoft web site and used maybe 3 or 4 FIXES they offer and nothing doing. Then I remembered The Windows Club might have a solution for my problem and I was right. FIX WU tool is very easy, just download... run... wait 15 to 30 seconds and you're done. It works like a charm and resolved my problem fast. After spending a few hours searching Microsoft for a FIX I must say that The Windows Club is the place to go for basically all your needs so THANK YOU Anand Khanse for your most valued and professional work...
