Default Windows 7 DOES NOT RECOGNIZE FLASH DRIVE

Tried to use a 64G flash drive for a backup. Windows 7 recognizes 32G drives but doesn't 'see' the SanDisk or PNY drive. Tried fixes I found on the internet, such as using Disk Management, trying various USB slots, but nothing has worked. Has anyone solved this problem? Thanks.

In a Windows7 Professional computer, the device is recognized. In my Home Premium it is not, but 32m flash drives are, which, ironically, use the same drivers as in the Professional Windows7.
