Default System Freezes and loses USB support after updating/ installing drivers

    Hi all,

I am working on a Dell Inspiron 3668 desktop System
We have tried to downgrade it from Win 10 to Win 7 as the systems
we connect with do not support Win10 machines.

We completely deleted all partitions and did a fresh clean install of Win 7 Pro 64 bit.
When we try to install drivers we are fine except for when we try to update the USB Control Module Driver,
then the system hangs and we lose all USB support (no KB or mouse) and have to force shutdown and reboot.

We also can't get video driver to load as it keeps saying that its not compatible for this OS, but its for Win 7 64
    Video is Intel HD Graphics
    Chipset is also Intel Chipset.

Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    IKE

Ok so after running Windows Updates for 7,
I got a message that stated the Processor was designed to run with Windows 10
and that not all updates would be installed.

Is it possible that because the processor is designed for Win10 that the Video Installer is
Actually checking the CPU/ Processor and determining that its not compatible with the
    Driver/ Software for the Video???

    Thanks

I think it would be rollback and go back to the old driver. You can Rollback via the Devices Manager.
