Default Windows keeps changing its folder view settings

Windows keeps changing its folder view settings. Hence I was following your steps to modify registry entry in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell".
But as I checked there is no "Shell" in my Windows registry. After selecting Windows ->current version option, there is only "Tray Notify" and nothing else!

I think there is some problem with me registry. Kindly advise.

Possibly tweaking.com's Windows Repair (All in One) run under Windows Safe Mode with Networking will fix the problem(s). After letting it make a registry backup and a System Restore Point -- go into Repairs -- click what you believe is relevant to the situation and let it run.

If "Shell" is not present you have to create it.

You can use our freeware FixWin to Reset the Folder View to Default.
