My husband and I must be in the minority, for we like the ads.

We liked the
Seinfeld-Superman ads for American Express, though, so go figure.
These MS ads just can't be taken seriously. The second ad seems better at personifying the brand as Bill and Jerry stay at a family's home, smack in the middle of all-American dysfunction. I think the message they're wanting to make is, "we want to know our customers". The latest ad, parts 1 & 2, made us laugh aloud a few times as we watched them this morning. Gates is surprisingly real in them, comfortable and a good straight man to Jerry's wry observations.
Now, whether people will buy into that "regular guy" premise is a whole other story.
