I'm in that same 'boat'.
During the birth of our first child (1962) I was holding my wife's hand in the hospital delivery room whilst I was reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by Shirer. If my girlfriend has a baby I'll be too stunned to read. I'm now 77 & she is 53.
I no longer read any NON-FACT items. "The truth, the whole truth, and ... ... "
