Default Remembrance Day 11/11 - 11-07-2009, 12:35 AM

On the 11th of November we will be remembering all of those who have fallen in the fight for freedom.

Remember the bloodshed,
The pain and the tears.
Remember the death,
Over those short years.

Respect those people,
Who were so brave.
To give us freedom,
Their lives they gave.

Now they sit in the poppies
The crosses mark their place.
In the skies above,
their fates they embrace.

So on this day,
The eleventh of November,
We shall never forget,
Because we remember.

Please download and use this wallpaper to show your support for all those who have given their life.

A nice gesture.

Just in case some of my friends are not aware of 11/11 : Remembrance Day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Italy, servicemen who died for the nation are remembered on 4 November, when the ceasefire that followed the Armistice of Villa Giusti in 1918 began. Since 1977, this day has not been a public holiday; now, many services are held on the first Sunday of November
.... memories are very important for the future...some errors will not be repeated

well this is the best way for me to write in this forum.... I speak and write Italian... usually...

I did not know that there were different dates world-wide. I just had a thought that it would be great to have a World Peace Day, where we all united in love and thought and stopped fighting each other.

I was not aware of that. In my country, it is the start of Carneval - 11/11 at 11.11 O'clock.
