    Quick Tip: How to find out your IP address using Google Search

    Open Google.com

    Type "my ip"

    The first line of the results will display your IP address!

    Your public IP address is 14.97.112.91 - Learn More
    That's it!

    ShowIP ,a nice add-on for Firefox: "Show the IP address(es) of the current page in the status bar. It also allows querying custom information services by IP (right click) and hostname (left click), like whois, netcraft, etc. Additionally you can copy the IP address to the clipboard."

    For thos eof us using Chrome there are extensions like "My IP address": See detailed information about your IP address, for example the geolocation, ISP, DNS, whois, routing, search results, hosting, domain neighbors, DNSBL, BGP and ASN information.

    What is wrong with ipconfig - would that not be the easiest method?

    ...Not if you are within a private network, such as if you are connecting to the internet through a router.

    ipconfig will only show your internal address in the local network, which is not visible across the internet.

    The other methods here will display the external address of the router that is assigned by the IPS provider: In other words, your IP address on the internet.
