For the past couple weeks I've been goofing around with a little desktop customizing. I've been amazed at how responsive Windows 7 remains when running all this. I've noticed ZERO slow down on an older 2Ghz machine.
For those interested this was put together using:
Rainmeter The skins are Evolution and a completely customized Suffix 3.
Windowblinds 7 The theme is called Tinted.
Dexpot For the virtual desktops and the "cube" functionality.
Switcher For the application switching.
Rocketdock With the Buuf icon sets. I don't start it with Windows anymore, I like the new taskbar better.
Stand alone stack 2 for the Mac like stacks.
The background is a fractal created with Apophysis (Not for the impatient!)
A couple of other obvious tweaks are the centered icons on the taskbar and pinning the recycle bin to the taskbar. Both tweaks can be found on the forums here.
