Thumbs up How to enable DreamScene in Windows 7 ?

The most thing I liked in Vista is the video backgrounds called "Dreamscenes" which come as part of windows ultimate extras , but after trying Windows 7 ,I discovered that this ability is no more supported ... So I searched for a way to make this work in 7 and I did using a patch...
It worked fine but it messed with my desktop icons and removed their text
so, would someone help me with this? thnx

also, do you think this patch is illegal???
    ps:sorry for the link

    Hi
I removed the direct download link.
This is TheWindowsClub, not the Blog you previously linked so we are not responsible of software developed by other people. I'm investigating if that patch is legal or not, but please do not post direct download link to questionable software.

Now if someone can help you he will do,
    Thank you

I would be interested in this as well.

I also enjoyed this feature in Vista so if any geniuses out there have figured out a better solution than the referenced patch which obviously has some issues it would be way to cool!!

Unfortunately, the problem isn't in the patch... It's the 7 aero platform which doesn't support dreamscene...
    Shame on you, Microsoft

Sorry but I think you cannot blame Microsoft for not supporting a Vista feature you liked on Windows 7.

    Hello Friends.........

DreamScene is a program originally released as part of the Vista Ultimate Extras Pack that animates your desktop background. It was never released for Windows 7 but thanks to a new free application you can have it in Windows 7 both 32 bit and 64 bit.

    Thanks

Reading this thread reminded me of another method tried on Windows XP, one can try this, but I haven't chked it on windows 7- One might have used VLC player, in that there's an option to set video as wallpaper- for details pl chk
Video as wallpaper in Windows XP which I had blogged long time back.

EDIT: As I'm told, this VLC player's wallpaper option running in Windows 7 is disabled, so this method won't work.

Agreed ! Dreamscene was the part of Windows Ultimate Extra for Windows Vista Ultimate only. And there is not Ultimate Extras for Windows 7 except few games...
