Question I want to load Windows XP screensavers on Windows 10

My old PC started out running Windows Vista 32 bit. I easily installed the Windows XP plus with the Mercury pool screensavers and such by just putting in the windows Plus super pack disc. It installed fine. At some point I upgraded to Vista ultimate 64 bit and then 2 Windows 7 professional 64 bit and finally Windows 10. Through all those upgrades the Windows XP Plus screen savers worked just fine.

I just bought a new PC that came preinstalled with Windows 10 professional 64 bit. I tried putting the Windows XP plus disc in to reload my screensavers. I received an error message that I must be running windows XP 32 bit and not a 64 bit system. This is obviously untrue because Windows 10 64 bit on my old PC was running the 32 bit legacy programs just fine.

Any ideas for a work around to get these loaded to my new PC. I can't run them in compatibility mode for Windows XP, unless I can install them in the first place, but the installation disc won't run. Gives me the error that I'm not using a Windows XP 32 bit machine! I tried to just copy the screensaver files over to the new PC, but then I get an error message that I need to accept the EULA for the screensaver to run. But there is no popup to accept it.

    Any ideas?

Try and see if this works.

Create a system restore point first.

If you have a Windows XP PC, open the Windows folder in Explorer. Search for *.scr files and save these screensaver files somewhere.

Open Windows 10. Open the Windows folder in File Explorer and paste these *.scr files in this folder.

See if you can run the screensavers.

XP Plus or 98 Plus won't work on Windows 10.

Thanks, That was a start but now if I try to run the screen saver, I get a message that I must accept the "EULA" first. I don't receive any prompt to do that. How can I get the system to think I have accepted it?
