    Default IIS problem in Windows Home edition

    Hi all

    I just bought a laptop and its having windows xp home edition, I have tried to install IIS on it but its not working. I want to work with Asp.net so How can I do it. Help me.

    Microsoft doesn't allow to run Dev tools (VSTS, SQL Server etc...) on Windows XP Home Edition as well as other home editions let it be Vista too.

    You can try this if it works.

    is the companies still providing genuine windows XP editions installed with there machines? i did not see new laptops with genuine XP anywhere.

    yes only professional versioon with sp2 and sp3 support same case wit vista basic home u need business or ultimate..
