Gameport in windows 7 ?
is it possible to use the old 15-pin gameport (on a soundcard) in w7 ?
No, but it depends on your sound card. Take a look at this post
thanks for the link, but i already know about it.
iīm using that "trick" with Vista, but it doesnīt work with W7...
Are you trying with to use an ISA sounds card or a PCI?
if it's ISA, windows 7 doesn't have the drivers anymore for the ISA bridge itself
so it can't see anything connected to it.
i found out how to do it...
it works now, i will post info later.

iīm not sure i remember how i did it.
if i have time i will try to do it later tonight, i have other more important things planned, regarding a now famous "DINOSAUR"....

i just noticed that i had recieved a couple of PMīs asking about Gameport in W7.
unfortunately, i donīt have my old PC with the gameport available at the moment, so i canīt give exact instructions on how to do it.
and since the last time i installed the gameport was a while back iīm not sure that i remember exactly how i did it, so you might have to experiment a bit.
but try the following...
Gameport in W7:
follow the instructions for Vista, install the Gameport-controller
but when you come to
"2) Installing the Gameport Devices control panel extension:"
do NOT follow the instructions about right-click on install.inf, as it doesnīt work.
instead run Device manager (as ADMIN)
select "Gameport-controller", update driver.
it might be called something else, but look for the "Yellow-triangle" warning you about a device not working, it should be something called "Game" / "controller".
then follow the rest of the instructions.
i will check my old PC as soon as possible to see if i can give more specific instructions....
