Windows 7 Performance Score and cards
This is to know which one is better.
I have two cards
Nvidia 8600 GT and 9400 GT
score for 8600 GT
Graphics - 4.8
Gaming - 6.1
score for 9400 GT(Before update driver version)
Graphics - 4.9
Gaming - 5.8
score for 9400 GT(After update driver version)
Graphics - 4.9
Gaming - 4.7 (I donno why)
So which one should i use ? Also why the gaming score reduced when i updated the driver (i used windows in built checking for latest driver)

Myself, I would have chosen 8600 GT over 9400 GT, as I don't see the later having any feature advantage over the former. 8600 GT is more powerful.
As in regards to performance alteration after driver change, this is a known fact that different drivers may output varied performance.
If you absolutely must have a top performance in games, or even better to say - in a specific game, as one game may run better with given drivers while the other game worse, - then you need to manually check different drivers and see what works best for you.
Having latest drivers does not necessarily translates into having a top performance.

What if 8600 is with 512MB and 9400 with 1Gb of memory ?

As far as I understand it, in games, 1GB of memory is useful when playing on high resolutions, say 1600x1200 and more and in full detail. And 9400 GT is not that powerful as a gaming card to take advantage of 1GB memory, in my opinion.
In regards if 1GB of video memory can be made useful by a business/multimedia application like video editing, photo manipulation or CAD, I am not sure. This probably needs to be checked with a vendor.

+1 for 8600GT. Don't just go for MB or GB. Krishan, there are some other factors such as clock speeds, memory type, memory clock speeds, amount of stream processors, and memory interface are all significant factors regarding the performance of the card.
