    Default macrium backup destination

    Hi,

I tried the Macrium backup on my XP HD & end up with 52 or 31 GB file to store, which is too large for CD/DVD or partitions on my HD.

As an OAP external drive is expensive.

Is this backup only for Companies?

    thanx ......nick

Not at all. I use Macrium all the time, But you need an external disk. You can buy a 500GB disk for about $60. Have a look here: Amazon.com: Seagate Expansion 500 GB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive ST305004EXA101-RK: Electronics

I think Macrium may be able to span the backup onto a set of DVD, here around ten. That seems a lot but the following differential backups should be acceptable, provided you don't defrag your disk too often/too much or add a huge collection of movies.

Free Macrium does not do differentials. You have to buy the Pro version for that.
