    My question: where in Windows 7 Pro can I turn off TurboBoost?

    Turbo Boost is not directly controllable from the Windows OS. But the following workaround is being suggested.

    Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced Power Setting > Power Options > Change Maximum processor state from 100% to say 99%.

    See it this works for you.

    Thanks for the idea! Elsewhere, another said 95% -- so, will try his and yours, monitoring results as I go
    Do you remember which SysInternal can give me a quick snapshot of what the 5 cores are clocked?
