Default Microsoft Security Essentials scheduled scan

Hello, I use Microsoft Security Essentials for my Windows XP system, and I was wondering, if you scheduled a scan, and your computer was off, what would it do? Would it scan the next time you turn on your computer? Or would it not scan at all? Thank you!

It would depend on the settings, but it will let you know by the icon turning orange in your notification bar if it requires your attention.

This will happen if it hasn't scanned for a while. Personally I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you believe you have a virus then do a full scan to see the results.

Thanks! I also have another problem with MSE. Why when MSE automatically updates, it fails, so I have to manually update, then it will work fine. Why does it do that? MSE is my Windows XP.

Check your Firewall settings... It may causing the problem and interrupting MSE to update online.
