Default Need to uninstall or bypass System center 2012 endpoint protection

Since I am retired, I am no longer using my laptop at work. I want to install Microsoft Security Essentials for home use. This download prompts me to uninstall endpoint protection. I get an error message and then the download fails. Any ideas?

    Hi !

If you want to uninstall it and switch to MSE:
open Control panel → Programs and features, click on "System center 2012 endpoint protection", uninstall it, install MSE.

System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection (SCEP) is the "business-version" of MSE, previously named Forefront Endpoint Protection (FEP).

    Why not keep SCEP ?
If you already have it installed and its working.....?
Unless there is a technical / license reason to switch....

Remember, if you switch to MSE then you will have to enter all settings from scratch, file and folders to be excluded etc.
Also, SCEP seems to be a little bit better than MSE in tests of antimalwareprograms.
