OMG... The command line process works PERFECTLY ! After hours of following menu approaches that differed from one another due to differences in the various versions of windows, etc, I was quite depressed and frustrated - I simply HAD to backup my system image saved in the D:\WINDOWSIMAGEBACKUP folder before attempting an O/S change which might have affected my D: drive also. Your post is 7 years old but entirely relevant in 2015 for Win 7 - and probably through Win 10, I suspect. Thank goodness that dos o/s commands still function cleanly and perfectly in today's Windows environment. I'm exceedingly grateful to you sir.
