Thumbs up Create or Modify Google Chrome Easily In Vista & XP - 09-05-2008, 03:40 PM

Everyone is falling in love with Google Chrome to it's simplicity. If you have also installed Chrome, you might want to change the default theme to your own new color. Although there are few sites which offers few Chrome it's a nice idea to have your own Chrome theme. Follow the below procedure to create your Chrome theme and it's icons look.

1.Download and install Restorator from here(30 day trail).

2.Go to Tools > Folder Options > View >select Show hidden files

3.Go to the following path in your Vista & XP:

Vista-C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Appl ication\0.2.149.27\Themes XP-C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\0.2.149.27\Themes
(where, C is your XP or Vista drive and "Username" is your login username.)

4.Copy the file named default.dll file to your desktop and open with Restorator.

5.Now, right click on BINDATA tree folder(see screenshot) and select extract the file to a new folder anywhere in your system.

6.In the new folder, open any .PNG file with Photoshop or Paint.net or GIMP and change the graphics according to your wish.

7.After modifying all the files, go to Restorator, expand BINDATA folder, select any file which you want to modify > right click on it > Assign > browse to your modified file(name, size and format must be same).

8.Go to Restorator > File > click Save.

9. Go to the following path and replace the new file with old default.dll file.(Copy & paste the new file in the old file folder(Themes folder) and select Copy and replace.
Vista- C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Appl ication\0.2.149.27\Themes
XP- C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\0.2.149.27\Themes (where, C is your XP or Vista drive and "Username" is your login username)

10.If all done well, your new theme will be updated. Good luck
