thanks imav but i think somewhere they'll affect the system speed and performance too.. startups are increased, services increased....

the look and feel of W7 is awesome, and the various improvements in UI lead to users make there vista look and behave as W7.......

I have just finished updating my wife's laptop to Win7 and I can safely say that the difference is outstanding. Even my wife has noticed the change in speed of boot up, shut down and overall speed of the OS. I must say I think Microsoft has hit the nail on the head.

^do you upgrade it from vista or W7's older builds?? as MS suggested to give a fresh clean installation for the W7 RC build......

I upgraded from Vista to see how it worked. I made a recovery partition with Vista on it just in case of problems. All I had to do was un-install 3 programs that had known incompatibility problems. It wasn't quick as that particular lap top has a 2Mhz CPU and 1Gb of ram. With all that said it worked without a hitch keeping all programs and personal files intact.
